Oscar winning actress Marcia Gay Harden has landed a multi-episode arc on Royal Pains, sources confirm to me exclusively. She'll play Dr. Elizabeth Blair, a surgeon, board member of Hamptons Heritage Hospital, and an adversary-turned-mentor to Jill (Jill Flint). Harden, who last year added a Tony to her enviable awards chest for her tour de force performance in God of Carnage, first appears in Pains' season 2 premiere on June 3. Source Here

Expect some major fireworks in the Hamptons this summer. Sources confirm to me exclusively that Trauma actress Anastasia Griffith is joining the cast of Royal Pains in the major recurring role of Dr. Emily Peck, a no-nonsense MD and a potential business rival of Hank's (Mark Feuerstein).
SPOILER ALERT! Griffith's doc will be introduced during the USA Network hit's second season (premiering June 3) when Boris (Campbell Scott) hires her to temporarily fill in for an MIA Hank. As previously reported, Happy Days vet Henry Winkler is also joining the season 2 cast as Hank and Evan's (Paul Costanzo) absentee dad.
Griffith, who was also a fixture on FX's Damages during its first two seasons, recently completed work on season 1 of Trauma. The struggling NBC drama is not expected back next fall. Source Here

The second season premiere date is yet to be set for Royal Pains, but the show's cast members have shed some light on what's to come. As previously reported, Henry Winkler joins the cast of this USA Network hit this summer. Mark Feuerstein (Hank Lawson) recently previewed this exciting piece of casting news in an interview with E! News: "We start shooting season two at the end of March. We have a new member of the cast - it's Henry Winkler, my favorite actor and character from my childhood, the Fonz. He's playing [Hank and Evan's] dad, who is a heel and a cad and a man who ran away with our money." Read More

Divya is scheduled to have her engagement made official. Hank must treat the owner of the place where the engagement is taking place. Evan is acting even stranger than usual and it's about the money. Jill is trying to decide about Charlie. So here's the season finale. After twelve very good episodes we have to wait till sometime next summer for one of the most popular new series to come along in years? Nine months? Most people may not even remember this show was on by then!
Not a great finale but unlike most episodes of Royal Pains this one had a little more intrigue. There was a lot of misdirected information situations, characters not revealing their true feelings, and some real solid angst involved in the episode and they didn't even deal with Boris' illness really at all! Hank is in New York fighting for his medical license. Boris wants to retain Hank as his personal physician. Charlie refuses to sign Jill's divorce papers. Evan and Divya get in a tight situation when Evan takes a job site unseen. Nice clean episode with three separate storylines. Good acting and the guest stars this week were excellent as well.
Hank is New York with Boris. He learns a little more about Boris, his families history, and the nature of his illness. Boris wants to retain him to handle things as his health starts to degrade. Hank still feels he can help him. Hank also is dealing with the Gardner family who wants to have his medical license pulled. In the end they will accept an apology from Hank that he made a mistake but Hank refuses. I believe Boris has taken care of this problem. Read More

Andrew McCarthy reprises his role as Tucker's dad Marshall who has been abusing alcohol and prescription drugs. Hank and Tucker try to convince him to go to rehab. Evan has a new friend who turns blue. Jill seems to be getting friendly with Charlie. An episode with some straight forward problems and a few twists at the end.
Tucker's dad Marshall shows up for Tucker's seventeenth birthday with a new assistant named Libby who ends up collapsing and Hank and Jill who are there take her to the hospital. Later Marshall also collapses in his bed and sleeps it off but Tucker is afraid he is over doing it. Hank tries to speak with him but Marshall fires him a second time. Read More

Hank is helping Jill with a horse show charity for her clinic. Divya's parents are in town and she is hiding her job from them. Charlie, Jill's husband is back in town. Hank treats a girl rider who is going to great lengths to win for her father. Not really that good an episode. It sort of misses something or at least most of the parts don't work 100%. I enjoy the characters like always. I think it must have been the stories.
Hank treats a girl who is having unidentified problems and suspects the father of doping her. In reality it is actually the girl doping herself much like a Boston Legal episode from last year. Read More
