Season 1, Episode 2 - There Will Be Food
Royal Pains: "There Will Be Food" Review Separating the parts of an egg is an abomination. June 12, 2009 - Two episodes are in the bag and I admit I'm really liking Royal Pains. A lot of its premise is borrowed from Burn Notice (a guy gets fired from his job and is forced to take up small jobs to get by) and it makes for a great Thursday night of television on USA. Really good pilots tend to be followed up by a couple of somewhat mediocre episodes as so much emphasis is put on making that pilot look good, but with Royal Pains they kept the quality high in this second (by air order, third by production order) episode. Right from the start, we got to see Hank (Mark Feuerstein) and his brother Evan (Paulo Costanzo) arguing about breakfast. These two haven't lived together since they were kids and now that they have to share a living quarters, it's causing problems. Hank's years of being neat and tidy at work have given him bad habits at home. He's an absolute slob and Evan can't stand it.
